Mission Statement

A theatre project dedicated to bringing together a creative collective on Kelowna’s Westside. Family-friendly productions for our Community, by our community.

Welcome to Crossing Creek Community Theatre— a milestone for live theatre enthusiasts in West Kelowna— our own live amateur theatre company!

Crossing Creek began as an idea 18 years ago when Leanne Reimer moved to West Kelowna. She came to this community with theatre training and experience and a love for amateur theatre. But there were no opportunities in West Kelowna—a gap between Kelowna and Peachland.

In 2019 Leanne approached her church—Powers Creek Community Church—with the idea of backing a local theatre endeavour. Powers Creek welcomed the opportunity to connect with their community through this fun art form, and to help provide a beneficial activity for all of West Kelowna.

In September of 2019, Crossing Creek Community Theatre was launched. Because of the amazing outpouring of support from Westside individuals, groups, and local businesses the inaugural production was a tremendous success. It was a beautiful product of many hours of work and fun, many dollars of support, and the realization of many hopes and dreams.

In April 2020, Crossing Creek Community Theatre became its own Not-For-Profit Society.

Given the Phase 3 easing of the Covid-19 parameters, we are now in full preparation for a late-summer/early fall production. All protocols will be implemented to ensure the safety of our volunteers and audience members!

But the best part of any production is not the performance, it’s the people – the friends and neighbours from all walks of life, working together for a common goal—the enhancement of our community. It’s a lovely picture of the heart of our community. It always shines through and we hope you cannot help but see it and feel it on our stage.
